Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the founder of the religious congregation Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (C.M.I) is our role model and his vision is made manifest in our institution.

He has left his indelible marks in the spheres of education, social reform, media, culture and religious formation. India’s first indigenous religious congregation for  men, C.M.I was his brainchild. In 1831, along with the support of Fr. Thomas Palackal and Fr. Thomas Porukara, the C.M.I was established which sparked off a spiritual renovation in the Church.

Marketing is a key to success for all verticals owing to its integration with other disciplines. A trained marketing graduate can play a key role in understanding the needs, analyzing the competition, identifying a customer’s behaviour and can accordingly develop business strategies more efficiently. Marketing is a business function which is directly aligned with the strategic task of customer creation and customer retention.
 
PGDM in Marketing, offered at CIM, delves into devising and deploying effective marketing strategies and tactics to counter business challenges, thereby the professional will be able to gain knowledge and apply skills to real-world scenario. Such graduates may be hired as better marketing professionals. Marketing at CIM also takes into consideration the strategic role of e-business in improving the marketing function of a firm.
 
Marketing at CIM covers various aspects related to Marketing Management, Market Research, Public Relations apart from Advertising, Promotions and Sales.  This program gives students a strong foundation in marketing concepts and skills, hence honing their decision-making and problem-solving skills related to managing marketing tactics. CIM also intends to teach them how to develop marketing promotional strategies based on product, price, place and promotion and measures of effectiveness. Thus CIM will prepare students to be life-long learners and successful professionals. Furthermore, the program also focuses on developing the ability to think and act creatively and proactively.  
 
This is a two year full time program which is divided into 6 trimesters. The students will understand fundamentals of marketing in the first year apart from a chosen area of specialization in second year. The compulsory and optional courses at CIM allows a student to understand the market dynamics in India and abroad. Adequate stress is laid on developing a sound conceptual base, honing decision making skills and taking reality checks on the class room inputs through live field projects. A combination of full-time faculty and visiting faculty drawn from industry and business is deployed to deliver this pedagogy. The trimester system followed in the program facilitates students with the flexibility required to engage in several live projects and activities that will give them hands on experience.
